“I want to recount the excellent service provided by Craig Fluter, which resulted with my son finally entering a treatment program; Together We Can.  I met with Craig last week and provided him with the information he needed to address my son’s situation.  My son, David, has concurrent disorders of severe mental illness and drug addiction.  Craig assured me that David could get the help he needed with Together We Can.  Because David was unwilling to get off drugs, there would need to be an intervention, and Craig suggested I enlist another contact of David’s to support this.  David’s roommate, who he adores, offered to take part. Our son relapsed in his drug / alcohol addiction which escalated rapidly & our lives were in chaos. Every attempt to get him to admit he needed to return to recovery was futile. I first met Craig a year ago during family support zoom sessions. My daughter had just entered Westminster house for treatment and I was struggling with every part of my life. How did he see and feel my pain through a screen? I will never completely understand the connection I instantly had with him. When he reached out to me I knew I could trust him. We were recommended Craig as an interventionist through the Together We Can team. Obviously like any family struggling with an addicted loved one we were overwhelmed and disheartened at the prospects for the future. Through our telephone conversation and one on one meeting with Craig we started to relax as we formulated a plan and one we could commit to! We were thrilled that we could act quickly to get him into treatment as space was made available.

We met Craig from West Coast Interventions because we were seeking for help with a family pattern involving addictive behaviour that was so stuck we could not manage it on our own.  Craig was recommended with a very high degree of confidence and respect.   We met during a pre-intervention family meeting which immediately began to change our pattern because an experienced knowledgeable person outside our family was involved and assuming a high level of responsibility and influence over a new process.  We were no longer stuck.  Just having a new person involved who knew the process and who could stay focused and non reactive led to an outcome that was largely unexpected at one point in the intervention process.  Our family member decided to go to the recommended treatment program with Craig’s support.

We found Craig through a person that was involved in my son’s life. He actually called me once hearing our son’s story and told us what he did and what support he could offer us. He explained to us that he had a good record of getting people into treatment and was very confident that he could do this for our son. After hearing his story of his own journey of addiction and why he does what he does and his passion to help people like my son we did hire him. He has been true to his word, he got our son into treatment and he is always available to us if we need support and he regularly checks in on my son and reminds him that he has his back. This was very important to us that we knew he would follow up and not let our son fall through the cracks. He has also offered to follow up once our son is out of treatment to ensure our son will have the best support and know that Craig is there for him.
